It’s easy to break out in a sweat on duty as a result of high summer temperatures or high-leverage tactical scenarios. But at Blauer, we’ll help you stay cool even in the most heated situations. Our uniform cooling technology is as close to air conditioning as you can get when underneath a killer July sun or when pursuing a suspect on foot. We use innovative materials, construction and treatments to keep responders cool and dry.
Public Safety Moisture Management Fabrics
Traditional cotton uniforms are known for retaining moisture, which reduces their breathability and can lead to soggy sweat-stained apparel. Blauer now uses high-tech polyester for many of its uniform shirts, pants and hats. This breathable fabric retains just 0.4 percent of its weight in moisture, compared to 7 percent for cotton. Furthermore, the fabric is woven so that it forces moisture through the gaps to the outer shell, creating the “moisture-wicking” effect that cools you down and dries you off.
B.COOL Performance Technology
The B.COOL® logo is reserved for our most advanced first responder apparel. By using advanced fabric construction and/or moisture-wicking treatments, we have created the best clothing for cool quick-drying comfort. Some of our B.COOL base apparel uses a combination of cotton and either mesh or Lycra spandex instead of polyester. This has a similar wicking effect and is safer for firefighters as it does not melt under intense heat. Our performance socks use a special COOLMAX® fabric blend that is ideal for these fitted garments.
Apparel for the Hottest Conditions
Blauer has applied our cooling tech to all sorts of public safety uniforms and accessories for when you need to stay cool. We have police uniform shirts, tactical pants, hi-vis polo shirts and other standard apparel for the summer seasons. You’ll find many other ways to stay cool with compression shirts, base layer turtlenecks, EMS hats, tactical base shirts and tactical vests. The top emergency responders in the country use Blauer apparel to keep their body temperatures down and maintain a professional look when they’re answering public needs.
