You may not always notice it at the time, but the sweat, soils and foul substances encountered on public safety duty can create pungent odors in your apparel. This can have a severe negative impact on your image and presence to both citizens and co-workers. Blauer utilizes anti-odor technology in many of our uniform shirts, pants, base layers and other apparel. This technology is especially predominant in our warm weather public safety clothing, as these garments are more often subject to conditions that can trigger foul smells. We will keep you smelling like roses so others will want to be around you.
Human skin and human sweat can produce a number of microbes and bacteria that create unpleasant odors. We use textile constructions, fabric treatments or both to block these organisms from being active. Some of our fire and EMS odor protection clothing is made using years that contain copper, silver and other metals that are naturally anti-microbial. Synthetic fabrics are more prone to odor, so if a uniform is made of polyester or nylon, Blauer often uses a harmless chemical treatment to block odor formation. (If you’re wearing cotton or rayon apparel, you’re in luck: human skin is acid-based, so these naturally acid fibers repel odor on their own without help.)
At Blauer, you’ll find many tactical uniforms and activewear apparel that is equipped with our leading odor protection. This can include tactical base shirts, performance polo shirts, compression shirts, base turtlenecks, public safety boots, performance socks and other clothing that is in direct or close contact with the skin. These public safety garments often also wick away moisture, meaning odor protection technology will give you a one-two punch of dryness and a more pleasant aroma. If you struggle with B.O. on duty, shop our selection of first responder apparel with odor management. We’ll reduce bad smells so you can focus on doing good work in the community.
